Professional background

Since 2016, Sonia has been the director of the Carmel Administration in the Haifa and Western Galilee District of Clalit Health Services. Before that, she spent five years managing the general clinic in Kiryat Motzkin. Between 2001-2009, she worked as a family physician at the general clinic in the village of Ibelin and managed the clinic. From 2004 until assuming her previous position, she was a member of the head staff of the Department of Family Medicine in Haifa, an intern instructor, and a clinical instructor on behalf of the Faculty of Medicine at the Technion. As part of her work in social activism, Sonia served as a member of the National Family Physicians Association Committee from 2015-2018. Sonia continues her clinical work as a family physician. She did her internship in family medicine at the Department of Family Medicine in Haifa, and did the internship at the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya.

About

Sonia was born in Peki'in and currently lives in Shfaram. She is married to Lutaf, a pediatrician, and they have four children: Nelly, Caesar, Lynn and Adi. If she had not been a doctor, she would have been a chef.

Education

Sonia holds a doctorate in medicine (MD) with honors from the Technion, and a master's degree in health systems management with honors from the University of Haifa. As part of the INBAR Program, she completed her master's degree in business administration (MBA) from the Faculty of Business Administration at Tel Aviv University. She is currently interning as a medical administrator.
