Shanit began her career in the Legal Department of the Ministry of Science, Culture and Sports (as it was then called), and since 2003 she has been employed in the Legal Department of the Ministry of Education. She is an expert in the field of the support provided by the Ministry to third sector (civil society) organizations and the allocations to local authorities and bodies that operate schools. In this framework, she accompanies a large portion of the flagship programs and the reforms conducted by the Ministry of Education in recent years, including the Nitzanim program, summer vacation school programs and the “second assistant” reform for preschools.
Shanit lives in Jerusalem. She is married and the mother of three children. In the past, she volunteered with the Jerusalem Rape Crisis Center and with the Community Advocacy organization. In her free time, she likes to travel within Israel and around the world.
Shanit holds both a master’s and bachelor’s from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and is licensed to practice law.
