Ranked a deputy commissioner in his current role, Doron previously commanded the Kedem Zone in the Jerusalem District, on the eastern side of the city, at the rank of assistant commissioner between 2018 and 2021. Throughout Doron’s military and police service, his focus has been on the operational security field.
Due to his many years of experience in the various positions, Doron has extensive experience in the following areas: detective and intelligence work, and commanding operations and patrols.
His main positions in the police force have been commander of zone intelligence, chief of operations in Jerusalem, commander of the Lod Police, commander of the Netanya Police, commander of the David Zone, commander of the Kedem Zone in Jerusalem, and his current role as commander of the Jerusalem District.
Over the years, he has gained a great deal of experience handling incidents of public order, serious crime and hostile terrorist activity, as well as significant community activities with complex populations, with an emphasis on youths.
Born in Jerusalem, Doron grew up in a six-person family. He is married to Tamar, a social worker, and is the father of five children. In his free time, Doron enjoys working with his hands, collecting cars and riding his motorcycle.
Doron obtained his bachelor’s degree in the history of the Land of Israel, and he holds a master’s degree in business administration.
