Since 2013, Abed has been the VP of the Reut Institute. In this position, he is responsible for strategic and business development, financial management and ongoing operations, and leads a team to advance innovation in an era of rapid. Previously, Abed was the deputy finance director of the organization, team leader for strategic advancement for the hi-tech industry in Israel, and team leader for economic-social development of the periphery. In the framework of that position, he led a collective impact process for socio-economic development in the Western Galilee.Abed is active in the Collective Impact Partnership for Arab employment and a member of the Board of Directors of the Moona Project – a technology space to advance hi-tech in the Arab community.
Abed is originally from Arraba in the north. He lives in Givatayim and is married to Hatam.
Abed holds a master’s in economics and a bachelor's (with honors) in economics and business management – both from the University of Haifa. He is a graduate of the Mahalach Foundation program for creating profitable units in non-profit organizations; the Migrash program for leading change through collective impact; the Hashikma program – for leadership and sustainability, and also completed two years of an internship in socio-economic policy in the Milken Institute Fellows program.
